Pastor C. J. Holliman

Reverend Carson “CJ” Holliman, Jr. hails from the beautiful city of Brunswick, Georgia, and he is a dedicated and blessed servant of God whose foremost aspiration is to faithfully fulfill the will of the Almighty.

​

His journey of knowledge began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Savannah State University, followed by a profound spiritual education at the Interdenominational Theological Center – Turner Seminary in Atlanta, where he earned his Master of Divinity. Currently, Pastor CJ is diligently pursuing a Doctorate in Ministry from Payne Theological Seminary. He takes great pride in being a member of the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

For over two decades, Pastor CJ, as he is affectionately known, has been spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. His remarkable ministry commenced in 2002 at New Grant Chapel AME Church in East Point, Georgia, where he faithfully served as the Youth Minister. Throughout the years, he has led and served five AME Churches in the state of Georgia: New Mt. Carmel in Sharpsburg, Greater Mt. Zion in Newnan, Payne Chapel in Brunswick, Cobb Bethel, and New Grant Chapel in Atlanta. Presently, Pastor CJ is the guiding spiritual force behind the Historic Saint Philip AME Church on the Boulevard in Savannah, Georgia.

His heart beats for the church to be deeply rooted within the community, tirelessly proclaiming the Word of Christ and providing support whenever possible. He has spearheaded numerous community-wide events, from job fairs to food drives, consistently assisting those in need.

​

Pastor CJ possesses a genuine passion for uplifting and empowering youth and young adults, as well as showing immense love and care for the elderly and the unchurched. A true visionary, he has dedicated himself to mentoring the Lights of Omega Organization, working with special needs youth, and serving as a mentor for the Youth Hope Builders Academy of Atlanta, a program that nurtures the leadership skills of young men and women.

In the face of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Pastor CJ took a leading role in a food distribution outreach initiative. Through this heartfelt effort, over 3,000 boxes of USDA fresh meats, vegetables, bread, and essential food items, along with USDA dairy farm gallons of milk, were distributed to communities and families in need. This remarkable endeavor was made possible through partnerships with other churches, outreach ministries, business corporations, friends, and family members, all of whom came together under the divine mandate to bless those who were struggling.

A man who fervently loves God, His people, and His Word, Pastor CJ finds joy in spending time with his family, unwinding with a good book, and continually seeking knowledge to share with others. His preaching and teaching of the Word of God are marked by power, conviction, and a deep desire to communicate the message with unwavering clarity.

He is happily married to his best friend and soulmate, Dr. Chantrise Sims-Holliman. Together, they are blessed with four adult children: Chris, Kaleb, Astede, and Hannah.

Pastor CJ's challenge to everyone is to embark on a personal journey to know God intimately and to place unyielding trust in Him above all else. Drawing inspiration from the divine words spoken to the Prophet Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you, ordained you a Prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5; 29:11 NKJV), he encourages all to embrace their unique calling and purpose.

In every aspect of his life, Pastor CJ exemplifies the timeless African proverb (Unbuntu), “I am because we are,” emphasizing the interconnectedness and shared humanity of all individuals in the sight of God. With unwavering faith and genuine compassion, Pastor CJ continues to make a profound impact on the lives he touches, leaving an indelible mark of love and devotion to God and His people.
